Overview

oDoc is a mobile health application that secured $1 million in seed funding to revolutionize the way people access healthcare. Designed to offer quick and convenient access to licensed doctors, oDoc enables users to consult remotely through secure video calls, receive expert medical advice, and obtain prescriptions all from the comfort of their mobile devices. According to the NIH, 90% of general consultations can be done remotely, making oDoc especially valuable for users in rural areas or those with demanding schedules. Operating in regions such as Singapore, India, and Sri Lanka, the platform is built to bridge healthcare accessibility gaps through a seamless, intuitive, and user-friendly digital experience.

Problem

Accessing timely medical consultations and prescriptions is often difficult, particularly in remote areas or during urgent health concerns. This lack of accessibility presents a significant barrier to healthcare, especially for those with busy schedules or limited local healthcare options.

Persona

To better understand the needs, motivations, and pain points of both patients and doctors, we developed two key personas representing our primary user groups. These personas helped guide design decisions by keeping real user contexts at the forefront ensuring the solution was empathetic, relevant, and functional for both sides of the healthcare experience.

Final Product: Key Features

1. Easy Consultations

Users can browse through a list of licensed doctors, view detailed profiles with specializations and experience, and initiate video or audio consultations with a single tap. This streamlined flow ensures quick access to medical help without the need for physical appointments.

2. Medical Notes

Patients can upload lab reports, test results, or photos of symptoms directly through the app. This enables doctors to provide more informed and accurate advice, making remote consultations just as effective as in-person visits.

3. Instant Prescriptions

After the consultation, users receive digital prescriptions instantly through the app. This not only saves time but also allows users to get medication delivered or collected without the hassle of visiting a clinic or pharmacy.

4. Flexible Payments

oDoc supports multiple payment options, including credit/debit cards, insurance coverage, and corporate accounts. This flexibility caters to a wide range of users and simplifies the billing experience.

5. Anonymous Mode

For users who prefer privacy, oDoc offers an anonymous consultation option. This feature allows individuals to seek medical advice particularly for sensitive issues without revealing their identity, promoting openness and trust.
